A reminder that we are asking that supporters arrive slightly earlier than they perhaps normally would do for todays Remembrance fixture.
An outline of the afternoon’s proceedings can be seen below:
1210: Cadets and Standard Bearers muster for parade on the side of the pitch.
1215: Cadets line up for guard of honour (provided by Ash Manor CCF) Standards and Ball Carrier to form up for march on.
1222: Standards lead players through guard.
1223: Players form up as usual and break off – Standards form up on railway side of centre circle. Any Dignitaries with wreaths to march on behind standards but halt EBB side of centre circle leaving a gap for Referee and assistants on the centre line
1224: Referee Calls in Players to centre circle and representatives lay wreaths on centre circle.
1225: Words from Chaplin ends with:
They shall grow not old as we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them nor the years condem.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
1227: Last post played by members of Gordons School.
A period of silence will be observed
Reveille.
Chaplin says:
When you go home tell them of us and say for your tomorrows we gave our today.
Referee blows the whistle and take control, players break off.
1229: Ball Boys march off and take up positions,
Standards march off.
Ball carrier and escort to collect wreaths.
1230: Game commences.
