Portsmouth v Shots Ticket Info

Aldershot Town have confirmed that the FA Cup First Round tie against Portsmouth at Fratton Park will be played on Sunday 9 November at 2pm.

The match is one of eight to kick-off at this time and will feature in a special interactive Final Score programme on BBC One.

The Shots have been allocated up to 2500 tickets in the all-seater Milton End, which will go on sale on Friday afternoon at 1pm. The Ticket Office will also be open from 10am on Saturday, in the lead-up to this weekend’s Vanarama Conference game against Gateshead.

Adult tickets are priced at £20, with Concessions (for ages 17-22 and 60+) costing £15. Tickets for Under 17s cost £5 if accompanied by an adult (both of which must be purchased simultaneously) or £10 if purchased separately.

Tickets can be purchased from the Club Shop on the High Street, by calling 01252 320211, or by postal application to ‘Portsmouth Tickets’, Aldershot Town FC, High Street, Aldershot GU11 1TW.

Season Ticket Holders are able to purchase guaranteed tickets until 5pm on Monday.

The two Hampshire clubs have also teamed up toensure that the tie will be a special match, dedicated to the armed services and those who have lost their lives serving their country in conflict. 500 tickets will be shared between serving personnel in the Royal Navy and British Army, as well as veterans, who will mark Armistice Day during a pre-match ceremony.

Portsmouth Chief Executive, Mark Catlin, said: “As soon as we heard the draw we knew this was a great opportunity as a community club to mark a very significant occasion. Obviously Portsmouth has strong connections with the armed forces, especially the Navy, and Aldershot is a garrison town. This is a chance for both clubs to say a sincere ‘thank you’ to the brave men and women who serve in the forces.

“We are delighted that Aldershot Town share our vision for making this a memorable occasion and that their board welcomed our proposal to donate tickets to soldiers, sailors and veterans.”

Shots’ Chairman, Shahid Azeem, explained: “We are extremely proud of our strong association with the British Army. This year our ‘Seats For Soldiers’ initiative has meant locally-based soldiers and their families can attend home matches, so we were delighted to support Pompey’s excellent initiative. The supporters of Portsmouth and Aldershot Town are both renowned for their vocal backing, so we can look forward to a fabulous atmosphere for this cup tie.”

Pompey are liaising with the Navy to distribute 225 tickets to serving sailors, while Aldershot are distributing a similar number of tickets to soldiers. The Royal British Legion have 50 tickets to distribute to veterans and Army Cadets, who will be making a poppy collection before the game.
