POPPY APPEAL: Thank you!

Aldershot Town and the Royal British Legion would like to thank supporters for their generosity during a tough time to still donate during the Poppy Appeal this year.

Firstly, we created a virtual wall where your donations raised a total of £405!

We also offered an option for subscribers to purchase Saturday 7th November’s Shots TV LIVE match against Notts County for an additional £2 which would go towards the Poppy Appeal.

We had a total of 329 people who took this option which raised £654.71! We’d like to thank all of the Notts County supporters who chose to take up this option and support the cause alongside us.

This means that a total of £1059.71 was raised by Aldershot Town for the Royal British Legion!

Furthermore, the Vanarama National League have agreed to match our above total! A huge thank you must also go out to them.

The signed match ball from the Notts County match (sponsored by British Army FA) was donated back to be auctioned with funds from this also going back to Aldershot Royal British Legion.

Mick Mills, Secretary for the Aldershot Royal British Legion said “We have had a difficult time collecting this year with many restrictions placed on us due to Covid 19. What Aldershot Town Football Club, the Vanarama National League, the supporters and the Army FA have done to support the Poppy Appeal is truly fantastic. Every penny counts towards providing support to serving and ex-serving personnel and their families. We are immensely grateful, as always, for the generosity of everyone involved.”

Finally, we also have a signed Poppy match day worn shirt auction which we hope will continue to raise additional funds!
