Player Spotlight: Keane Anderson

Shots academy star boy Keane Anderson has been terrific to have around the first team since graduating from our youth system in 2022. With his Dad, Mark Anderson, also having played for us in the 90s, it’s safe to say that Keane has Aldershot Town running through his veins and will do whatever it takes to help the club with his performances on the pitch.

At 22 years of age, Keane is still early on in his footballing journey and is beginning to get more and more opportunities with the first team, even earning a spot in the starting 11 in our recent win against Hartlepool, where he received a respectable 7.2 match rating for his efforts. We will all be hoping to see as much of Keane as possible in the remainder of the 2025/26 campaign, as he has so much to bring to the team both on and off the pitch.

EARLY CAREER

Keane signed his first professional contract right here at the EBB Stadium, having made his breakthrough from our academy. Since then, Keane has enjoyed several successful loan spells, most notably at Havant and Waterlooville and Torquay, where he was swiftly recalled to be a part of our squad going into the new year.

Keane had several loan spells very early on when he was still in his teenage years, with clubs like Walton Casuals and Leatherhead, giving him exposure to first-team football from a very young age.

FOOTBALLING ACHIEVEMENTS

Keane should be immensely proud of how far he has come at his boyhood club, from signing his first professional contract to making his debut against Lewes in the FA Cup.

Aside from his achievements with The Shots, Keane managed two player of the month awards with Havant and Waterlooville, a fantastic achievement for a youngster, and demonstrates just how much potential he has.

FACT-FILE

We already know that Keane is Aldershot through and through, so here are a few things you might not know about him:

  • Keane has already played for 8 different teams by the age of 22, whereas most footballers, on average, play for around 5 or 6 in their whole career.
  • During his time at Havant and Waterlooville, Keane managed 11 goal contributions, giving him a rate of one contribution every 3 games!
