The club can confirm the departure of Ryan Jones, who has joined fellow Enterprise National League side Yeovil Town.
With Ryan out of contract at the end of the season, and having made it clear that he was seeking a move closer to his family, the club has concluded the transfer at this stage. As a result, the club has secured a five-figure sum rather than losing Ryan for nothing at the end of the season as a free agent.
In addition, the agreement includes a sell-on clause, ensuring the club will benefit from any future transfer of the player and enabling any such receipt to be reinvested into the club’s playing staff.
The 23 year old joined the Shots in July 2024 on a free transfer from Bristol Rovers and has gone onto make over 70 appearances for the Shots, scoring 9 goals & 8 assists.
Some memorable moments include playing a pivotal role in our 3–1 National League win Vs Solihull Moors last season providing an assist with a superb cross and also scoring a goal himself.
Although Ryan didn’t play the FA Trophy final, missing out due to a broken Tibia, he played an instrumental role in helping the team get there, which takes nothing away from his achievement at Wembley.
The club would like to thank Ryan for all of his efforts during his long spell here and want to wish him the very best with his career moving forward.
