Lee Collier (Head of Professional Development Phase): Lee joined Aldershot Town as Academy Manager in July 2015, having previously worked in academy football at Bristol City, Cheltenham Town and AFC Bournemouth. During his time at Aldershot Town, he has played a part in developing players such as Ben House (now at Reading), as well as Matt Bozier and Luca Wrightman-David. Lee is currently working towards his UEFA A Licence and also a Degree in Performance in Football. Lee’s playing career started at Torquay United, and he also played for Yeovil Town, Newport County, Bath City, Sailsbury City and Poole Town.
Patrick Ryan (Professional Development Coach, U17-U23): A UEFA A Licence coach, Patrick also holds the FA Youth Award, a BSc (Hons) in Sports Development & Coaching Science from Bournemouth University, and a Masters In Coaching degree from Amsterdam’s Johan Cruyff Institute. He previously spent three years at Queen’s Park Rangers, and was part of the coaching team which reached the Premier League U21 Professional Development League Final.
Stephen Mills (Youth Development Phase Manager, U9-U16): Stephen is responsible for overseeing the social and holistic development of players within the U13-U16 age groups across all of our venues. Stephen is also responsible for the day to day management of the programme from the pre-academy through the foundation and youth development phases to produce the best players possible for the professional development phase.
Stephen is a highly motivated and experienced, UEFA B licenced coach with a passion for football and a broad experience in coaching both adult and youth age groups at professional league clubs both in the UK & the USA. Having previously worked at Crawley Town Football Club and Aldershot Town Football Club before relegation showing he thrives under pressure and is extremely ambitious always looking at new ways to develop players as well as himself. As well as being UEFA B qualified, Stephen also holds the FA Youth Award Module 3. Stephen is also a qualified Personal Trainer with a degree in Sport and Exercise Science. This year he hopes to undertake his UEFA A Licence and Advanced Youth Award qualifications.
Ryan Nevard (Foundation Phase Lead Coach U9-U12 & Pre-Academy Head Coach): An FA Level 2 coach who is working towards his UEFA B Licence, Ryan has a BSc in Science and Football from Liverpool John Moores University. In his final year there, he worked as a Sports Science Intern with Everton FC, including within their renowned Academy, and was then promoted to work with the U23 and First Team squads.
Having initially coached the hots’ Under 9 squad, Ryan is now Foundation Phase Lead Coach (U9-U12), and will be looking to give the players in these age groups the best possible platform to progress through the club.
Katie Dorsett (Head of Youth Medical): Katie has recently graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Sports and Exercise Rehabilitation from Middlesex University, having spent the 2016-17 season on placement with the ATFC Academy. Previously she has completed placements with Farnham Knights American Football Club and Farnham Rugby Club, as well as working as a pitchside assistant for Oxfordshire Rugby Club’s U16 side. She is also qualified in personal training and pitchside first aid.
Sam Thompson (Sports Science): Sam is our First team and Academy sports scientist, he possesses a BSc in Applied Sport & Exercise Science from Winchester University and an MSc in Applied Sport & Exercise Physiology from St Mary’s University London. Sam is responsible for monitoring training load and match day physical performance through various methods of technology. He then subsequently provides feedback to coaches, medical staff and players. Sam also provides strength and conditioning support to both squads so players can maintain a peak physical condition.
