OFFICIAL CLUB STATEMENT

The club would like to say the below statement on record to clarify some incorrect information circulating online:

The Club is aware of recent posts suggesting that a supporter was ejected from the ground for displaying a flag during Saturday’s Remembrance Day fixture.

We wish to clarify that this information is incorrect.

While flags on poles are not permitted inside the ground for safety reasons, on this occasion—given the importance of the Remembrance Day fixture—the Safety Officer granted an exception for a regular supporter who is usually seated in the North Stand East to display his flag in that area.

At half-time, the flag was moved into the East Bank, where several supporters reported that it was obstructing their view of the game. Stewards politely asked the supporter to stand in near the no man’s land area to avoid causing inconvenience to others. The supporter briefly entered this area and was then escorted back to his original position in the North Stand East.

This interaction was recorded on body-worn cameras.

To confirm:

The supporter was not ejected from the stadium.

He later chose to move to the Community Stand towards the end of the game and left at full-time.

Stewards and the Safety Officer acted appropriately, making reasonable allowances in the spirit of Remembrance Day.

Finally, the Club would like to express a huge thank you to all our supporters and sponsors for helping make our traditional Remembrance ceremony one of the best seen at any football ground.

Your respect, participation, and support truly honoured the occasion and all those we remember.
