North Stand Safety Barrier Lowered

Supporters watching tomorrow’s game against Leyton Orient from the North Stand’s wheelchair section should enjoy a better view of the action after the pitchside safety barrier was lowered.

The Club’s groundstaff volunteers, led by Dave Bowler, Richard Petty (pictured below) and Barry Wakem, have reduced the height of the barrier by over 30cm, to help sightlines from the seats in the North-West corner of the EBB Stadium.

In consultation with Shots fans Phil Yarney, the Hampshire Fire Services representative on the Club’s Safety Advisory Group, and Trevor Vincent, of Frimley Green-based structural engineers Vincent & Rymill, the work was carried out by Bowler, a qualified welder.

The Club thank all of those involved for giving their expertise so readily and helping to enhance the matchday experience of fellow fans.
