We are delighted to announce that Stockport County goalkeeper Ethan Ross has signed for the club on loan until the end of the season!
25 year-old Ross is an experienced shot-stopper at this level despite his age and will be looking to build on previous Vanarama National League experience with both Maidstone United and Weymouth FC, whilst also representing Stockport County in the National League earlier on this season too.
Ross came through the youth ranks at Arsenal, Cambridge United and West Bromwich Albion, before loan spells with Worcester City and Redditch United followed, making over 55 appearances in both the Vanarama National League North Ross also spent time on loan in 2017–18 with Redditch United, making 20 appearances in the Southern League Premier Division.
After leaving West Brom at the end of the 2017–18 season, Ross joined League Two club Colchester United on a two-year contract on in 2018 before spending a brief spell of 2018-19 on loan with Maidstone United.
Ross then signed for League One club Lincoln City on a one-year deal, before being loaned to Weymouth FC in 2021 where he met the current Aldershot Town coaching staff and arguably had his most successful spell under the guidance of Mark Molesley, Tom Prodomo and Robbie Yates.
Ross’ performances for Weymouth earned him a move to current table-toppers Stockport County in July of last year and now rejoins Molesley, Prodomo and Yates in the hope of helping us push up the Vanarama National League table.
