We are delighted to announce that Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain has signed for the club ahead of the 2021/22 Vanarama National League season!
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is a midfielder by trade (but is capable of playing in a number of positions as his performance against Slough Town last Saturday showed), is a product of the Portsmouth FC academy system, earning a professional contract with Pompey in 2014, before making his first-team debut professional debut on September 2015.
Since then, the 23 year-old has had spells in non-league with a number of clubs including: Wimbourne Town, Salisbury FC, Eastbourne Borough, Poole Town and National League South side Oxford City before moving to fellow National League side Notts County.
A number of Aldershot Town fans might recognise our latest recruit too, as playing under the name ‘Trialist B’. Oxlade-Chamberlain played the second-half in our 2-1 away victory against National League South side Slough Town and registered an impressive assist from right wing-back, following strong individual play in the build-up to our opening goal last weekend.
Our new player will look to be involved in our final pre-season friendly against Brentford ‘B’, (more details to follow soon), before our Vanarama National League season starts against Chesterfield FC at home on the 21st August with tickets available now!
Welcome to Aldershot Town Christian!
