Aldershot Town are delighted to announce the signing of AFC Bournemouth defender Dinesh Gillela on a month’s loan deal!
The 21 year-old joined the Cherries in 2016 following a successful trial spell and signed a two-year scholarship before penning his first professional contract in July 2018, after graduating from the club’s youth ranks, having previously been on the books with fellow Championship side Watford FC.
The young defender is versatile and capable of playing a number of positions across the back-line, including right-back and centre-back. Gilella will also know the area too, having played been born in Camberley, Surrey and attended Woking Primary and Slough Grammar School too.
Gillela then spent some of the 2019/20 season on loan at Billericay Town in the National League South, before training with former first-team manager’s Eddie Howe at the Cherries too.
On the official AFC Bournemouth website, they describe Gillela as: “A versatile defender, he honed his skills playing Futsal and believes this helped him as he took his first steps in the professional game.
“Gillela, who has trained with Eddie Howe’s first-team squad, played a good standard of club cricket and represented his district at athletics.”
He will wear number 16 during his time with us at Aldershot Town.
Gillela will look to be involved in tonight’s game against Barnet FC which you can stream on our Shots TV Live stream HERE as we look to get back to winning ways.
