NEW SIGNING: Shots Sign Fawole!

We are delighted to announce that forward Josh Fawole has signed for the club, before moving straight on loan to Southern League Premier South side Farnborough FC!

Fawole, who is a forward by trade, will be looking to gain some valuable experience by taking the temporary move to local side Farnborough FC, starting with their next game of the Southern League Premier South season against Wimborne Town away.

The 23 year-old joins the Shots having previously played for US College side Loyola University Maryland between 2016 and 2019, during which time he made 68 appearances and scored 20 goals and 10 assists.

While playing at college, Fawole also appeared in the USL PDL with Baltimore Bohemians in 2016, NPSL side FC Baltimore in 2018, and the-now rebranded USL League Two in 2019 with The Villages SC.

On January 9, 2020, Fawole was selected 42nd overall in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft by MLS side D.C. United. Following this, the forward later signed with D.C. United’s USL Championship affiliate, Loudoun United, making his professional debut on March 7, 2020, appearing as a 57th-minute substitute in a 0–0 draw with Philadelphia Union II.

Shots fans will recognise Fawole better from his performance against last season’s Vanarama National League champions Sutton United, where he was better known as ‘Trialist D’ and was heavily involved in the winning goal of the game.

During his 20-minute cameo, he impressed with his trickery and skill that ultimately won Aldershot Town the penalty which Alfy Whittingham scored and gave the Shots the 2-1 victory on the day back in July.

Fawole did come off with an injury in that game, but has since recovered and kept himself fit, before being available for selection for Farnborough’s next fixture against Wimbourne City this Saturday.

Welcome to Aldershot Town Josh!
