We’re delighted to confirm that Olly Scott has signed a new deal that will keep him with the Shots until the end of the season!
Scott had joined on a non-contract earlier in the season but picked up an injury after breaking into the side with some impressive performances.
The 23-year-old returned to fitness in time to score our 90th minute winner over Stockport County in the Emirates FA Cup Second Round and has now made 10 appearances for the Shots.
Tommy Widdrington says: “I’m delighted for both us as a club and for Olly that we’ve managed to get the deal over the line.”
“I feel both sides have been committed to each other from day one but having his season interrupted by an injury meant both parties have had to be patient as the heavy schedule and the festive period have taken a lot of our time up since his (Olly Scott) return to first-team action.”
“He’s already proven to be a valuable member of the squad and of course he will always, quite deservedly, have a place in the club’s history books as ‘the lad who scored that goal at Stockport’ which of course set up the memorable visit to The Hawthorns in The FA Cup Third Round.”
“I look forward to working closely with Olly as I believe he has even more to offer than we’ve already seen and I personally thank him and his family for their patience too.”
