We’re delighted to confirm that Olly Scott has signed on for the 24/25 season!
The wing-back had a successful 23/24 season with the Shots, leading to international recognition and an England C debut at the EBB Stadium as the Non-League lions beat Nepal 2-0.
Scott also played a key part in our brilliant FA Cup run, scoring a last-minute winner to beat League Two champions Stockport County at Edgeley Park in front of the BBC Two cameras in the Second Round Replay.
On his new contract, Scott said he’s delighted to be staying at the club: “It’s been great playing with a great bunch of lads and staff but also to play in front of a massive fan base that shows so much passion.”
“The club is going in the right direction and delighted to be involved in helping it go forward!”
Tommy Widdrington added: “Olly, as everyone is aware, had already worked with me before I joined the club and but for a couple of niggly injuries last season, I know would’ve seen far more game time.”
“We rarely lost when he started games and his tenacity and solidity was evidently missing at times I felt.
He’s already written his name into “Shots History” with his memorable late strike up at Stockport County which enabled us all to enjoy that fantastic experience brought by the magic of The FA Cup at The Hawthorns.”
“I expect him to kick on after the boost of his selection for the England C side in the recent international game I watched at The Ebb against Nepal. A proud day I’m sure for all of us Shots!”
