We’re very happy to announce that young defender George Milner-Smith has signed a new contract for the 24/25 season!
Milner-Smith signed his first professional contract with the Shots at the beginning of last season, having graduated from our Academy system.
A successful loan spell with Northwood in step 4, saw the 20-year-old move on loan to Sholing in step 3 where he finished the campaign and helped the Boatmen to survive relegation.
On his new contract, George said: “I’m really grateful to the gaffer and the club for offering me a new contract.”
“I gained some good experience out on loan last season and I’ll try and prove myself in pre-season. I can’t wait for it to start!”
Tommy Widdrington said: “George is a lad we all feel has the raw qualities needed in a central defender.”
“This was evident last pre-season and then during first team training, in which he never looked out of place, so like a lot of youngsters, we felt more men’s 1st team football was the best pathway for him.”
“Like Keane Anderson, he was monitored closely and had a very good run of games for Sholing which we hope has brought him closer to affecting my thinking.”
Congratulations, George!
