The Glovers finished 16th last season, with 52 points, exactly the same points total as The Shots who finished 15th.

 

HOW DID SHOTS GET ON AGAINST THEM LAST SEASON?

The 6 points were shared between The Shots and The Glovers last season. At Huish Park on 28th December, Yeovil prevailed 3-0, thanks to a couple of goals from Courtney Duffus and one from Albi Skendi. Back at the EBB in May, Aldershot secured a 2-0 win with strikes from Harry Panayioutou and Chike Kandi. Earlier this season, Yeovil came away with all three points, following a 2-1 victory over The Shots.

 

WHO’S THEIR GAFFER?:

35-year-old Charlie Lee, is currently Caretaker Manager of Yeovil, following the departure last month of Darren Sarrl to Woking. As a player, Lee made almost 500 appearances for the likes of Peterborough United, Gillingham, Stevenage and Leyton Orient, before starting his coaching career as Assistant Manager to Sarrl at Huish Park less han two months ago.

 

GLOVERS PLAYING SQUAD:

Players still at Huish Park from last season include Defender Luke Wilkinson, Midfielders Matt Worthington & Tom Knowles and Forward Ruben Reid. Worthington is suspended on Friday, following his sending off at Kings Lynn. Knowles is The Glovers second top scorer this season with 7 goals in all competitions to date. Ahead of him is one of Yeovil’s new signings this season, Charlie Wakefield, who has 8 (all comps) who was previously at Bromley. In goal at present is Ted Cann, who joined the Glovers on a short term contract, following his release from Championship side West Bromwich Albion. Other notable players at Huish Park include Defenders Morgan Williams (ex-Coventry City) and Sonny Blu-Lo Everton, who is on loan from Premier League Watford until the end of the season, former Glentoran Midfielder Dale Gorman and forward Josh Neufville, who has returned to Yeovil on loan from Championship promotion hopefuls Luton Town.

 

ANY EX-SHOTS?

Max Hunt played 19 games for The Shots, on loan from Derby County in 2019, before being recalled and signing for EFL Carlisle United.
