The Shots welcome Wealdstone to the EBB Stadium this weekend as the clash kicks off at an earlier time of 12:30pm, receiving enhanced DAZN coverage.
This fixture will be the club’s annual Remembrance fixture with proceedings beginning approximately 10 minutes before kick-off and we advise fans to take their positions in the stands earlier than normal.
This weekend’s visitors currently lie 22nd in the Vanarama National League table, having picked up two wins from their 16 league games so far this season.
RECENT FORM
Wealdstone’s last five games have brought them two wins, a draw and two losses.
Their two most recent games, like the Shots, have come in cup games as they fell to defeat against Fulham U21s in their first National League Cup game on Tuesday night, but pulled off a great victory away to League Two side Grimsby Town in the Emirates FA Cup.
- 05/11/24 – Wealdstone 0-2 Fulham U21s
- 02/11/24 – Grimsby Town 0-1 Wealdstone
- 26/10/24 – Ebbsfleet United 2-2 Wealdstone
- 23/10/24 – Wealdstone 3-2 Braintree Town
- 19/10/24 – Wealdstone 0-3 Yeovil Town
IN THE DUGOUT
Matt Taylor is the man in charge of Wealdstone. The former Portsmouth and West Ham player who racked up over 300 Premier League appearances has been in charge at Grosvenor Vale since May 2024.
the 42-year-old’s first step into management was a Caretaker Manager of Swindon Town whilst still a player, but joined Tottenham Hotspur as their Under 18s Manager upon retirement in 2019.
Taylor has had two spells in charge of senior sides in the EFL, spending time in charge of Walsall and Shrewsbury Town before joining Wealdstone in the summer.
LAST TIME OUT
The last clash between the two sides at the EBB Stadium came in August 2023 as the Shots picked up a 3-1 win on home soil. Ryan Glover’s shot from wide was fumbled into the net, before a Josh Stokes double meant Sean Adarkwa’s late goal for the visitors was merely a consolation.
The last meeting between Wealdstone and Aldershot saw the points shared, however. Lorent Tolaj and Jack Barham put the Shots into a two-goal lead, but Wealdstone fought back and turned the game around thanks to goals from Sean Adarkwa, Nathan Ferguson and Micah Obiero. A red card for Aaron Henry allowed the Shots to score a late equaliser through Kwame Thomas.
