HOW DID SHOTS GET ON AGAINST THEM LAST SEASON?
The Shots picked up all 6 points in the two National League matches between the clubs last season. At Grosvenor Vale, in January, Aldershot prevailed 4-3, thanks to goals from Nouble, Anderson, Kandi and Rees. Both matches were played behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions. Kandi also scored in Shots 2-0 win at the EBB Stadium in late April. Harry Panayiotou got Town’s other goal.
WHO’S THEIR GAFFER?:
41-year-old Stuart Maynard, formerly the Stones Assistant Manager, took over as Manager (initially as Caretaker Mgr) at Grosvenor Vale in February 2021, following the departure of former boss Dean Brennan (now Head of Football at Barnet). Maynard was well known to the clubs supporters, having played for the Stones in the 1990’s. He was also an integral part of the management team that secured promotion to the National League.
Connor Smith, Moses Emmanuel, Michee Efete and Jerome Slew were some of the more surprising departures from Grosvenor Vale in the summer, along with that of Jacob Mendy Mendy, who signed for Boreham Wood.
Thirteen players stayed, including defenders Dan Wishart, Jerome Okimo & Connor Stevens, midfielders Alex Dyer & Michael Phillips, plus forwards Dennon Lewis and Danny Parrish (now on loan at Billericay Town).
Maynard has brought in 11 players. Striker Josh Umerah (formerly at Charlton, Boreham Wood and Torquay United) has hit the ground running, with four goals already, including both Stones strikes at Meadow Lane on Tuesday evening, where they lost to Notts County by the same scoreline that Shots did 10 days earier (3-2). Other incoming players included Rhys Browne (Sutton Utd), Andrew Eleftheriou (Dagenham & Redbridge), Medi Elito (unattached but formerly Barnet), Charlie Cooper (Woking) and Ira Jackson Junior (Grimsby Town).
Attacking midfielder Rhys Browne played 31 times for Aldershot Town, back in 2015.

It was a Wealdstone game, with the Stones winning 4-2 at Woking. Saturday will be Parsons 3rd National League match of this season. He has shown 8 Yellows and 1 Red in his first two games.
