The U’s have picked up three draws in their last five games, and whilst their visit to Halifax was goalless, the other two draws have brought plenty of goals, finishing 3-3.

IN THE DUGOUT

Steve Morison is Sutton’s Manager and has been in charge since January 2024. He took over at the VBS Community Stadium with the club bottom of the Football League but despite improving their form, could not save them from relegation.

Morrison made over 700 career appearances as a striker, most notably at Millwall where he made the majority of those appearances.

His managerial career began at Cardiff City in 2021 after being given the job permanently having impressed on an interim basis. He was sacked in September 2022 and joined Isthmian League Premier side Hornchurch in June 2023 who he left top of the league to link up with Sutton.

LAST TIME OUT

The last meeting between the two sides came in the last pre-season friendly before the 23/24 season as the Shots beat the League Two side 1-0 thanks to a Lorent Tolaj goal.

The last competitive meeting came in May 2021 as Sutton beat the Shots 3-1 to march towards Football League promotion with future Shot Coby Rowe scoring one of the goals.

SINCE WE MET

Since the last competitive meeting between the two sides, Sutton confirmed their first ever promotion to the Football League.

In their first EFL season, the U’s finished eighth, just one point off of the playoffs, and reached the EFL Cup final, losing 4-2 after extra-time to Rotherham United.

A 14th-place finish followed, before relegation back to the Vanarama National League last season after three seasons in League Two.
