Last season Slough Town competed in the National League South, finishing the season in 13th with 49 points, their third season in the division.
HOW HAVE WE GOT ON AGAINST THEM IN THE PAST?
Our previous fixtures against Slough have both come in pre-season friendlies. Last summer, we enjoyed a 2-1 victory against the Rebels, with Mikael Ndjoli impressing to hand us the win. The 2020 pre-season friendly again saw a 2-1 score line, but unfortunately the result swung in the other direction as Slough picked up the bragging rights.
WHO’S THEIR GAFFERS?
Slough Town have a 2 gaffers opposed to just 1: Jon Underwood and Neil Baker. The pair became joint managers of Slough on 28th May 2013, heading into their ninth season as the managers of Slough Town. The pair played together at Farnborough, before Baker spent 2 seasons at Fleet Spurs, and Underwood spent 2 at Sandhurst United, both starting in the 2010/11 season. They linked up in the dugout for the first time at Godalming, winning the Surrey Senior Cup in 2012/13 before they made the switch to Slough in 2013.
SLOUGH PLAYING SQUAD:
It’s been a busy summer for Slough, with 14 departures from the club, with Freddie Grant and Paul Hodges both moving to Farnborough FC, and young duo Tyler Goodrham and Leon Chambers-Parillon both going to Oxford United u23s. Slough themselves have so far made 5 new additions from last seasons squad, singing Elliot Benyon, Johnny Goddard, James Dobson, George Wells and Guy Hollis for the upcoming season.
While he spent most of his playing career at Farnborough making over 400 appearances for the club, gaffer Neil Baker turned out for the Shots at the turn of the century, and from the current squad Scott Davies spent 2 spells on loan with the Shots, firstly in 07/08 and then returned the following season in 08/09 from Reading FC and returned to the club for a brief 2 month loan spell in 2011 between October and New Year. Slough new signing Johnny Goddard joined the Shots from Stevenage in January 2019, spending 7 months with us before departing for Ebbsfleet in July 2019.
