MATCH PREVIEW: Shots v Woking (A)

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Shots kick off 2023 with a trip to Boxing day’s opponents, Woking. The hosts picked up all 3 points in a 2-1 victory at the EBB last time out, but a positive display from the Shots provides hope going into the return fixture away from home.

WOKING FORM GUIDE:

Woking last 5: 3W, 1D, 1L.

Woking’s last 5 league fixtures have seen them pick up 9 out of 15 available points. The three victories came against Aldershot on Boxing day, Maidstone on December 3rd, and Boreham Wood on 12th November. Their one loss came at home to York on December 10th, and the draw again was at home to Altrincham. In between all the league fixtures, Woking were knocked out of the FA Cup and the FA Trophy at the hands of Oxford United and Eastleigh respectively.

SHOTS TRIPS TO WOKING:

Shots previous five visits to Woking have all ended in victory, the most recent of which being a 3-2 victory with two late goals from the Shots winning the game in dramatic fashion. Shots again picked up the points in a 1-0 victory at the start of 2021, the same scoreline winning the game for Aldershot again in 2019. In 2018 and 2017, it was consecutive 2-1 victories for Aldershot on the road at Woking.
