WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Aldershot open their season in the FA Trophy at home to Welling United. The Shots made it to the fourth round of the FA Trophy last season, losing to eventual winners Bromley after beating Kingstonian in the third round.

HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?

Welling finished 20th in the National League South last season, and in the FA Trophy they lost 3-2 to Hungerford Town in the second round.

HOW HAVE WE GOT ON AGAINST THEM IN THE PAST?

Aldershot and Welling previously met in the 2015/16 National League season, with Aldershot winning both fixtures 1-0. The 15/16 season was the last season Welling spent in the National League, going down in 23rd place, with Aldershot finishing in 15th.

WHO IS THEIR GAFFER?

Current Welling manager is former Northern Irish international Warren Feeney. Feeney played over 40 times for the Northern Ireland National Team, and in his club career he made over 300 appearances, playing 90+ times for Bournemouth and 70+ times for Luton. Feeney started his managerial career as an assistant at Sailsbury City, and took charge of his first team at Linfield in 2014. Feeney has gone on to have spells at Newport, Crawley, Notts County, Ards, Pirin Blagoevgrad and was appointed Welling manager in March 2022, where he has remained since.
