WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Aldershot Town will welcome Sholing FC to the EBB on Wednesday night in the third round of the Hampshire Cup. Sholing are currently top of the Southern League Division One South table, having won 13 of their first 16 games this season.

HOW DID THEY GET ON LAST SEASON?

Sholing finished 7th in the Southern League Division One South last season, picking up 19 wins from the 36 games they played, finishing 10 points better off than Melksham Town in 8th. Last season in the Hampshire Cup, Sholing fell at the first hurdle, losing 2-1 to Gosport Borough.

HOW HAVE WE GOT ON AGAINST THEM IN THE PAST?

Aldershot’s Academy played Sholing Youth in the 2017/18 season in FA Youth Cup, with Sholing earning their spot in the first round proper of the FA Youth Cup, after 120 minutes ended in a 2-2 draw, and Sholing eventually going on to win on penalties.

WHO IS THEIR GAFFER?

Dave Diaper is in charge of Sholing, and has been in charge of the side since the 1999/00 season. Diaper reached 1,000 games in charge of the club in 2018, and took Sholing to an FA Vase victory in 2014. Dave is assisted by his son Marc Diaper and has won 11 major honours for the club.

SHOLING SQUAD UPDATE:

Top scorers for the side Dan Mason on 11 and Lee Wort on 10 are likely to start tomorrow night’s game due to their prolific output for the side this season. Mason alongside Dan Miller and Ryan Gosney have played all of Sholing’s games this season, having started all 16 games. Rob Flooks and Sami Makhloufi have made the joint most cup appearances with 7, and Lee Wort has scored 7 cup goals in 3 games, furthering the belief he could start tomorrow night.
