MATCH PREVIEW: Shots v Leiston (H)

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Aldershot return to FA Trophy action against getting past Welling in the previous round just before Christmas. Shots play again at home, this time welcoming Southern League Premier Division Central side Leiston.

HOW HAVE THEY DONE IN THE CUP?

Leiston have already gone through four rounds of this season’s FA Trophy, beating Eversham United in the third qualifying round back in October, before beating Wroxham and Alvechurch in the first and second rounds. Last time out, Leiston beat Folkestone Invicta 4-1 on penalties after a regular time 1-1 draw.

LEISTON FORM GUIDE:

Last 5: 3W, 1D, 1L.

Of their last 5 fixtures, one being their previous FA Trophy win, Leiston have picked up 3 wins. Their most recent and most emphatic was a 6-2 battering of Basford United, in which Will Davies scored a hat trick for Leiston. Their other victory came against Needham Market on Boxing day. Their loss came away from home against Nuneaton Borough FC, and of their previous 5 fixtures, Leiston are yet to pick up a win in 90 minutes on the road, a good sign for the Shots.
