MATCH PREVIEW: Shots v Dorking

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Aldershot mark the halfway stage of the run of home fixtures by welcoming Dorking to the EBB. The meeting is just the second in history between Aldershot and Dorking as they’re currently known, with the first coming earlier this season.

HOW HAVE THEY DONE THIS SEASON?

Dorking are currently sat 19th in the table, having amassed 30 points from 28 games so far this campaign. They exited the FA Cup at the same stage as the Shots, losing 3-1 at home to Eastleigh, and in the FA Trophy, Dorking have progressed to the fifth round, setting up another clash with Aldershot at the EBB next weekend.

LAST TIME OUT:

Aldershot travelled to Dorking back in October, the first meeting of the two sides in their current history. The Shots won emphatically, with Inih Effiong volleying home from a Justin Amaluzor cross to give the Shots the lead heading into the break. After the interval, Tyler Cordner volleyed a second in before a wonderful solo effort from Tommy Willard wrapped up the points for Aldershot in a 3-0 win.

ONE TO WATCH: JAMES MCSHANE

James McShane is currently sat third in the National League scoring charts, having bagged 16 goals in 27 games so far this campaign. Of Dorking’s last 6 goals scored, 3 of them have been from McShane, and McShane has scored 36% of Dorking’s league goals so far this season. Last campaign, McShane bagged 13 in 26 for Dorking in the National League South, including one in Dorking’s 3-2 playoff final victory over Ebbsfleet
