WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?
Looking for a third win in a row, Shots travel to Meadowbank to face Dorking Wanderers on Saturday. Currently sat in 12th, Dorking have picked up 21 points from 15 games and are also unbeaten in their last two games, having picked up a win against Wealdstone last weekend, and a point away to Woking in the week.
HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?
Dorking got promoted to the National League for the first time in their history last season, after beating Ebbsfleet to earn promotion. The regular season saw them finish in second place, behind league winners Maidstone United.
Dorking almost made the first round proper of last season’s FA Cup, losing to Hayes & Yeading United on penalties in a fourth round replay. The FA Trophy saw them make it to the third round, as they lost to Southend after beating Worthing in the second round.
HOW HAVE WE GOT ON AGAINST THEM IN THE PAST?
This is the first time Aldershot have played Dorking Wanderers, but Shots played the old Dorking FC in the Isthmian Division 1 in 1994/95 and won 6-1.
WHO IS THEIR GAFFER?
Dorking’s Manager is Marc White. White is both Chairman and Manager of the club.
DORKING SQUAD UPDATE:
Alfie Rutherford is currently sidelined for Dorking, having scored twice in the seven appearances he made for Dorking at the start of this season. Of the rest of the squad, five of the team have played over 1,000 minutes this season, putting them in good contention to start this fixture. They are Josh Taylor, Niall McManus, Bobby-Joe Taylor, James McShane and Daniel Gallagher. Of the new additions, Ryan Seager and Jack Jebb from Hungerford Town and Dartford have made 15 and 14 appearances, with Seager along with James McShane making the most appearances for the side this season, making him likely to feature this weekend.
Adam Mekki, formerly of the Shots is currently at Dorking. Mekki made 96 apperances for Aldershot between 09/10 and 13/14, scoring 6 goals and providing 13 assists during his time at the club. His best seasons at the club came between 11/12 and 13/14, making 20+ appearances in all three of those seasons.
Bobby-Joe Taylor also played for Aldershot, for one season in 17/18. Taylor managed to score one goal and get a further five assists over 25 appearances that season.
Tickets for the Dorking game have now sold out, meaning there will be no tickets available online or on the day at Meadowbank.
