MATCH PREVIEW: Shots v Chesterfield

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Shots return to National League action on Tuesday night, hosting playoff pushing Chesterfield. The game is the penultimate game in Shots run of home games, with Aldershot having picked up two wins, a draw and a loss so far over the run.

HOW HAVE THEY DONE THIS SEASON?

Chesterfield are currently sat in 5th position, but have played two less games than Woking in third, and have an opportunity to leapfrog the side if they win both their games in hand. Chesterfield lost their third round tie of the FA Trophy at home to Coalville Town, and almost made their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup after an original 3-3 draw with West Brom, but the Spireites were beaten 4-0 in the replay.

LAST TIME OUT:

The Shots met Chesterfield back in August this season, and were beaten 1-0. Aldershot’s defence held firm for the opening 45, but Liam Mandeville scored just after the hour for the hosts to give them all the points.

Chesterfield’s previous two matches at the EBB have ended in defeat for the Shots, with the Spireites picking up a 2-0 victory in 21/22 and a 1-0 victory in 20/21.

ONE TO WATCH: ARMANDO DOBRA

Dobra currently has 8 goals and 3 assists this season, including 4 in 4 in the FA Cup. The Albanian winger joined Chesterfield at the start of this campaign, after 3 g/a for Colchester last campagin saw Ipswich let him leave to join the Spireites. Dobra had come through the youth ranks at Ipswich, playing in the FA Youth Cup in 17/18 and 18/19, being given his best run in the first team in 20/21 in League One for Ipswich.
