WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?
Tommy Widdrington’s Shots continue working towards the 2023/24 season by taking a trip to Suffolk to take on AFC Sudbury. It’s a first Tuesday night clash of pre-season at the MEL Group Stadium, with two more Tuesday games against Farnborough and a Chelsea XI to come.
HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?
AFC Sudbury finished second in the Isthmian League North, 7 points behind Hashtag United with 91 points, eventually gaining promotion to the Pitching In Southern League via the playoffs. Josh Stokes was impressive for AFC Sudbury, scoring 16 times and being names Fans Player of the Year, before he joined the Shots in early June.
OUR PREPARATIONS:
Aldershot have played twice on the road so far this pre-season, kicking off the preparations away at Badshot Lea, with an impressive showing from Maxwell Mullins helping the Shots pick up a 3-0 victory on the road. Another away trip ended in a losing effort at Eastbourne Borough, but provided some crucial minutes in the tank for some of the new and familiar faces in Widdrington’s side.
