WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Kings Lynn Town FC, also known as The Linnets. Founded 2010 after Kings Lynn FC (Founded 1881) were wound up in 2009.

 

WHERE IS THE MATCH BEING PLAYED?

At The Walks. Capacity (8,200 (1,200 seated).

 

HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?

Last season was the Linnets first at National League level, having been promoted as Champions of the National League North in 2019/20, despite being in second place when the season was curtailed. They were declared Champions on ‘points per game’. They finished 21st of 22 clubs in the National League last season, with 31 points from their 42 games.

 

HOW DID SHOTS GET ON AGAINST THEM LAST SEASON?

Both games ended in draws. At the EBB Stadium in a midweek match, the Linnets were impressive and the Shots a little fortunate to get a 1-1 draw on the night. The two sides met again on the final day of the season, in a highly entertaining 4-4 draw. Kodi Lyons-Foster scored twice to put Aldershot 3-1 up in the second half before Kings Lynn staged a late comeback to earn a share of the spoils with a 90th minute equaliser.

 

WHO’S THEIR GAFFER?:

57-year-old Ian Culverhouse is a former Norwich City player that played almost 300 games for the Canaries as well as having spells at Swindon Town and Brighton & Hove Albion. In management, he had spells as Assistant Manager of Colchester United, Norwich City and Aston Villa, before taking the reins at the Walks in 2017. After a brief spell at Grantham Town, Culverhouse re-joined the Linnets in 2018 and subsequently led them to the National League.

 

WHO’S DEPARTED?

Long serving forwards Michael Gash and Dan Jarvis both left the club in the summer, as did forward Adam Marriott, who had been on loan at Barnet. Highly rated Sonny Carey joined Blackpool and Junior Morias signed for Dagenham & Redbridge earlier this season.

 

WHO’S STAYED?

Just eight players remain at The Walks from last season. They include; Defenders Tyler Denton & Ross Barrows and Midfielders Michael Clunan & Ethan Coleman (who was on loan at Kings Lynn last season).

 

WHO’S ARRIVED?

Just 24 hours ago, Striker Ken Charles became the 17th new addition at the Walks this season. A former Colchester United youngster, he has also had prolific spells at Enfield (13 goals in 40 games), Braintree (3 in 3) and Cheshunt, where he had already scored 13 goals this season. Other new editions at Kings Lynn this season include; Goalkeeper Paul Jones (400+ EFL Apps), Centre-Backs Luis Fernandez (Stevenage) & Pierce Bird (Eastleigh), Midfielders Munashe Sundire (Hemel Hempstead) & Brett McGavin (Ipswich Town) and Strikers Gold Omotayo (Wrexham) & Malachi Linton (Wycombe Wandereers).

Saturday’s referee is Lloyd Wood. This season, he has taken charge of 5 National League matches, showing 15 Yellow Cards and 1 Red Card. He took the middle in Aldershot Town’s 2-1 home defeat to Solihull Moors in September.
