The Shots make the trip to the New Lawn this weekend to take on Forest Green Rovers.
Aldershot’s final away game of 2024 is the first visit to the New Lawn since 2016 when Christian Doidge – who has now returned to FGR – scored a brace including a last-minute winner in a 2-1 win for the home side.
RECENT FORM
Forest Green have won just one of their last five games (in 90 minutes), but have also lost just once – avoiding defeat in their three Vanarama National League games – with a loss in the National League Cup against Wolves’ youngsters.
Three of the five games have been at the New Lawn with Rovers picking up a win, a draw and a loss. Their most recent VNL game saw them defeat Boston United thanks to a goal from Harvey Bunker.

IN THE DUGOUT
Steve Cotterill is still the man in charge of Forest Green Rovers. The 60-year-old has had a long and successful career in management since his first job at Sligo Rovers in Ireland in 1996.
His most successful spell was arguably his fist in England when he took over at hometown club Cheltenham Town in 1997 and went on to win three promotions in five years.
In a managerial career that has spanned almost 30 years, Cotterill has also occupied the dugouts of Stoke City, Burnley, Notts County, Portsmouth, Nottingham Forest, Bristol City, Birmingham City and Shrewsbury Town before he joined Forest Green in January 2024.
LAST TIME OUT
Forest Green visited the EBB Stadium on the opening day of the 24/25 season, kicking off this campaign with plenty of goals in a 3-3 draw.
Hady Ghandour scored twice, but Ryan Inniss, Kyle McAllister and Christian Doidge turned the game around for the visitors before James Henry scored a late equaliser.
SINCE WE MET
This weekend’s clash with Forest Green Rovers marks the halfway point of the 24/25 season, being matchday 23 of 46, and our hosts have enjoyed a successful first half of the campaign since visiting the EBB Stadium on the first game of the season.
Rovers currently sit in third, two points behind league leaders Barnet but with a game in hand, having picked up 45 points in their 21 games.
FORMER SHOTS
Adam May – The midfielder is the only current member of the FGR squad to have spent time at the EBB Stadium as he was on loan with the Shots back in 2018. He scored twice on his debut, netting once more in his 12 appearances for the Shots.
