WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?
The Shots are making the short trip to Farnborough for some more midweek, floodlit action. Aldershot will be hoping to continue on from Saturday’s 3-0 win over AFC Totton!
HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?
Farnborough had a respectable season in the National League South having been promoted to step 2 the season previous. They finished 12th with 66 points and were just eight points off the playoffs.
Four losses out of their final five games put an end to their playoff hopes but they’ll be looking to improve on a decent showing last campaign.
Boro’ reached the Second Round of the FA Cup after an impressive 7-0 win over Biggleswade Town and a 2-0 win at League Two side Sutton United. They were beaten 4-1 by Wrexham in the Second Round where Oliver Pendlebury scored a fine free-kick for Farnborough just before his move to the Shots.
PREVIOUS MEETINGS:
The last pre-season meeting between the sides was a pretty crazy affair as the Shots ran out 7-5 winners at the Easy As HGV Stadium!
Tommy Willard was the only current Shot involved that day and did find himself scoring one of the 12 goals.
FORMER SHOTS:
Joe Partington – Last season’s skipper joined Farnborough this summer after making the decision to move to part-time football.
Adam Mekki – Mekki started his career with the Shots before leaving in 2014. The forward is a recent signing for Farnborough after spending last season at Dorking Wanderers.
Alfie Pavey – Pavey spent half a season at the EBB Stadium back in 2016. He’s another of Farnborough’s summer signings.
Alfie Saunders – The young right-back left the Shots early last season after bravely deciding to take a break from full-time football due to mental health struggles.
