Midweek action returns to the EBB Stadium as we welcome Derby County u21s to the EBB Stadium in the National League Cup.
With the National League Cup being launched this season, It’s our first ever game in the competition that involves 16 National League teams and 16 PL2 sides split between four groups each consisting of eight teams. The two top teams of each group will go through and qualify to the knockout stage of the competition.
The Shots come into tomorrow night’s game off the back of a 2-1 win against Bath City on Saturday in the FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round. With the game seemingly heading to a replay, the 10-man Shots clinched a last minute winner courtesy of Maxwell Mullins to see them progress into the first round of the competition.
Derby U21s suffered a 6-0 defeat against Sunderland u21s last week in the Premier League 2. They currently sit 22nd in the league table with two wins and four losses so far this campaign.
Alongside Derby U21s, the Shots will also be facing Brighton U21s, Fulham U21s and Southampton U21s. Wealdstone, Woking and Maidenhead also feature in our group but the Shots will only be playing against the PL2 sides.
