MATCH PREVIEW: Dagenham & Redbridge

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

Aldershot are back in action at the EBB following a draw against Southend on Tuesday, and this time Tommy Widdrington’s side welcome Dagehnam & Redbridge to the EBB. The Shots come into the game unbeaten in two, after a good display at Boreham Wood and a good defensive showing against the Shrimpers last time out give Aldershot a win and a draw in their last two games.

Looking to end the run are Ben Strevens’ Daggers. Founded in 1992, the Daggers are made up of the former sides Dagenham and Redbridge Forest, and the side has been as high as League One in their 31 year existence.

PREVIOUS MEETINGS:

Dagenham got the better of Aldershot on both occasions last season. A Josh Walker brace got the Daggers a 2-0 victory over Aldershot at the EBB in January of this season, and a month later on the road the Shots were inflicted the same taste of defeat, this time Angelo Balanta and Junior Morias scored for Dagenham.

LAST SEASON:

The Daggers finished the regular season in 10th, flirting with the chance of making the playoffs but the side were unable to get themselves into the top 7 come the final day. The side made it into the fourth round of the FA Trophy last season, but were eliminated by Maidenhead, and in the FA Cup beat Maidenhead in the first round proper, but lost the second round via a replay to Gillingham.

22/23 SO FAR:

Just 3 wins in 12 sees Dagenham in 18th place ahead of a trip to the EBB. The 3 wins actually all came in a row, with wins over Barnet, Wealdstone and Fylde at the end of August and start of September, but the side have picked up just 2 points in their last 5 games ahead of the clash against Aldershot.
