This Saturday the Shots take a trip north to the Jakeman’s Community Stadium as they take on Boston United in the Vanarama National League for the first time.
The Shots will be making a 300 mile round trip to Lincolnshire to the Jakeman’s Community Stadium, the home of Boston United. This is the first time the Pilgrims have made an appearance in the National League after spending 10 seasons in the National League North.
The Pilgrims currently sit 19th in the table on seven points and will be looking to make their way up the table.

This will be the first ever competitive meeting between Aldershot Town and Boston United.
IN THE DUGOUT
Ian Culverhouse is the man in charge of Boston United.
Culverhouse started off his senior player career with Tottenham Hotspur before joining Norwich City in 1985 where he spent nearly a decade playing for the Canaries and is now a member of the Norwich City F.C. Hall of Fame.
Culverhouse started his career in coaching at Brighton, where he was head coach of the youth side. He also had experience coaching at Barnet, Leyton Orient and Wycombe Wanderers.
His first managerial role was at King’s Lynn Town in 2017. He led the Linnets to place second in the league, after which they lost in the play-off final. He then left King’s Lynn and had a short spell at Grantham Town in 2018 before returning back to King’s Lynn.
Despite King’s Lynn being in the bottom half of the Southern League Central Premier table when Culverhouse arrived. The Linnets’ managed to climb the table in the second half of the season. They managed to clinch the runners up spot on the very last day of the season, and went on to win the play-offs which earned themselves a place in the National League North for the 2019/20 season.
In September 2022, Culverhouse became manager of Boston United where he managed to help Boston United out of the National League North for the first time in 10 seasons as they won the playoffs last season.
FORMER SHOTS
A familiar face to Shots fans Is Jai Rowe.
Rowe came to the Shots in March 2023, following his departure from Scunthorpe United. He was signed on a short-term deal until the end of the season, during his time with the Shots he made just four appearances.
He then signed for Boston United in October 2023, and was a key player in their promotion into the National League. He made 36 appearances for the Pilgrims with six goals under his belt, five of those being in the league and the other being in the FA Trophy.
