MATCH PREVIEW: Bishop’s Stortford (FA Trophy)

WHO ARE THE SHOTS PLAYING?

The Shots return to FA Trophy action in another away trip, this time to the RDA Stadium to take on Bishop’s Stortford, looking to book a place in the fifth round of the FA Trophy. The game is the Shots second in two weeks in cup competition, with the side exiting the FA Cup at the hands of West Brom last weekend.

LAST SEASON:

Bishop’s Stortford were promoted to the National League North last season following a season in the Isthmian division which saw them pick up 27 wins in 42 games, gaining 88 points and also gaining a place in step two of the non-league pyramid. This season is their first back in the National League North/South since their relegation from the National League Southh in 2016/17.

23/24 SO FAR:

The return to step 2 hasn’t been the kindest for Bishop’s Stortford, with the side 5 points adrift of 23rd placed Darlington. 5 wins in 27 games means Bishop’s Stortford have picked up just 17 points and are now 12 points away from safety. The sides last win came just before Christmas as they picked up a 2-0  win away from home to 23rd placed Darlington.
