MATCH PREVIEW: Altrincham (H)

The Shots return to action at the EBB Stadium as Altrincham make the journey south.

Currently in 10th, Altrincham have picked up seven wins, six draws and five losses from their 18 games so far this season. Regan Linney is the Robins’ top scorer with nine goals, putting him in joint second in the Vanarama National League’s scoring charts with five other players.

Altrincham are unbeaten in their last five games, picking up two wins and three draws.

Of those games, two have come away from home as they pulled off an impressive 5-0 victory at AFC Fylde, before drawing 3-3 with Solihull Moors in their last game away from home.

IN THE DUGOUT

Phil Parkinson is in charge of Altrincham and having held that role since 2017, is one of the longest serving Managers in the country.

At 43-years-old, Parkinson will also be one of the younger Managers in the country, but has taken Altrincham from the Northern Premier League to the National League playoffs whilst in charge of the Robins.

LAST TIME OUT

The last meeting between the two sides finished with a Shots win as Lorent Tolaj and Tyler Frost scored just before half-time to secure a 2-0 win in front of the TNT Sports cameras.

Altrincham won the game at the J.Davidson Stadium as Chris Conn-Clarke and Alex Newby scored either side of a Cian Harries penalty.

FORMER SHOTS

Ethan Ross – Alty’s ‘keeper was on loan at the EBB Stadium for the final couple of months of the 21/22 season, making nine appearances.

Justin Amaluzor – Justin made 45 appearances and scored eight goals – including the Goal of the Season against Maidstone United – during the 22/23 season.
