HOW DID THEY DO LAST SEASON?

The Stones finished 19th, with 37 points in their first season back at the fifth tier of English football for 32 years.

 

HOW DID SHOTS GET ON AGAINST THEM LAST SEASON?

The Shots picked up all 6 points in the two National League matches between the clubs last season. At Grosvenor Vale, in January, Aldershot prevailed 4-3, thanks to goals from Nouble, Anderson, Kandi and Rees. Both matches were played behind closed doors due to Covid-19 restrictions. Kandi also scored in Shots 2-0 win at the EBB Stadium in late April. Harry Panayiotou got Town’s other goal. In September 2021, The Stones and Thw Shots’ drew 2-2 at Grosvenor Vale, in what turned out to be Danny Searle’s last game in charge. Corie Andrews scored both Aldershot goals.

 

WHO’S THEIR GAFFER?:

41-year-old Stuart Maynard, formerly the Stones Assistant Manager, took over as Manager (initially as Caretaker Manager) at Grosvenor Vale in February 2021, following the departure of former boss Dean Brennan (now Head of Football at Barnet). Maynard was well known to the clubs supporters, having played for the Stones in the 1990’s. He was also an integral part of the management team that secured promotion to the National League. Maynard, and his Assistant Manager Matt Saunders signed new 2-year contracts this week.

 

STONES PLAYING SQUAD:

Very few players are still at Wealdstone from last season – those that remain include Defender Jerome Okimo and Midfielder Alex Dyer. Maynard has brought in a lot of fresh faces, including; Striker Josh Umerah (formerly at Charlton, Boreham Wood and Torquay United) top scorer this season with 15 goals, Rhys Browne (Sutton Utd), Andrew Eleftheriou (Dagenham & Redbridge), Medi Elito (unattached but formerly Barnet), Charlie Cooper (Woking) and Ira Jackson Junior (Grimsby Town).

 

ANY EX-SHOTS?

Attacking midfielder Rhys Browne played 31 times for Aldershot Town, back in 2015.

 

WHO’S GOT THE WHISTLE?

Sunday’s referee is Jacob Miles. This season, to date, he has taken charge of 18 National League matches, showing 47 Yellow Cards and 2 Red Cards. He refereed Aldershot Town’s 1-0 home win v Torquay United earlier this season.

 

HOW TO GET TICKETS:

With it being our last game of the 2021/22 season, we are hosting a Shots Super Sunday event, that will see tickets reduced to both £12 for all adults and just £2 for under 17s, click HERE for more details.

Our Ticket Office will still be open on the day of the game from 11am for home supporters who would like to purchase on the day of the game, however this will see the prices go back to usual prices as listed  HERE.
