Tonight’s Vanarama National League fixture against Boreham Wood has been postponed following a ground inspection.
Tonight’s game falls victim to the freezing temperatures seen across the country over the last few days and joins a number of other fixtures across the league in being postponed.
We’d like to reassure supporters that the pitch has been covered for since last Thursday and best efforts were made to ensure the game was to go ahead but ultimately the fixture has been deemed unplayable.
The main concerns would be the safety and accessibility of all areas of the stadium, with the South Stand particularly icy, and though the pitch is in a decent condition at the moment, further forecasted freezing temperatures have put the condition in doubt.
We’d like to thank the ground staff and volunteers who worked hard to increase the chances of the fixture being played and to MKM who supplied us with grit for around the ground.
Details on refunds and further information on tickets for tonight’s fixture will be announced in due course.
