McDonald’s and EuroHire Sound & Light: Macclesfield Match Sponsors

Aldershot Town are delighted to welcome McDonald’s and EuroHire Sound and Light to the EBB Stadium as sponsors of tomorrow’s match against Macclesfield Town.

James Kirkpatrick, McDonald’s franchisee, says: “McDonald’s has traded within the
UK now for over forty years, and we opened in Aldershot in 1981. In that time some things with us have changed, but most things have stayed the same. The world is ever changing, and in the 21st century faster than ever before. Businesses need to evolve to keep
up with customers’ needs. In the restaurant business this may be menu changes, ways to order and pay, or the dining-in experience. McDonald’s has recognised this and is currently in the process of converting all of its UK restaurants into what we are calling our Experience of the Future restaurants.

“In Aldershot I closed the restaurant in the summer of 2015 for five weeks whilst we rebuilt the interior, converting a 35-year-old business into a brand new one. An investment of £750,000 has seen a huge change. We’ve rebuilt the kitchen and service area, refurbished the seating area and toilets, and converted all of our back-of-house areas. I’ve introduced the most efficient energy-saving initiatives available, and installed Samsung tablets for our customers to use as well as self-ordering kiosks. Since re-opening, the customer response has been amazing. The kiosks are designed to allow my customers time to really browse the full menu, order at
a relaxed pace convenient for themselves, and then the order
is sent through to the kitchen. Whilst payment is being taken the food order is sent electronically through to the kitchen and is then made specifically for the customer, ensuring when it is received it is hot and fresh. In future this will allow us to customise our products. We also have plans to offer table service to those customers who feel they would benefit from it, as well as pre-ordering via mobile phones.

“So McDonald’s in Aldershot has changed! We feel we have made the necessary adaptations to set it up to trade successfully for another 35 years. It is very similar now to our hugely successful Tumbledown Dick restaurant in Farnborough. As the owner/franchisee I really do appreciate your loyalty and business over these last ten years, and please do drop by and see what you think with the changes I have made.”

We are also pleased to welcome EuroHire Sound and Light to the game.
