PlayerShare Fund Reaches £135,000

Aldershot Town’s hugely successful PlayerShare Fund have donated another £5000 to the Club to contribute towards the signing of England C international midfielder Jake Gallagher.

This donation is the latest in almost eight years since the formation of the Fund – organised by Nick Fryer, Keith Able and Ian Dawkins – which has helped The Shots sign many key players, including Dan Holman, Jonny Dixon, Tristan Plummer, Jamie Young, Dean Morgan, Jermaine McGlashan and Aaron Morris. The money donated to the Club now totals approximately £135,000.

“The PlayerShare Fund has already been a massive help to me,” said Barry Smith. “Without this contribution we wouldn’t have been able to pick up a player like Jake Gallagher, a young player who is going to make a big name for himself with Aldershot Town. He is a winner and he will do everything he can for this Club. We thank Nick, Keith and Ian for allowing us to use this money on somebody who I believe will soon become a fans favourite here, and I hope that we will be able to use the Fund again in the future.”

The Fund will be continuing to support the Club this season, with forthcoming events, donations, Golden Goal tickets, quiz nights and the recently relaunched Cash for Shots scheme.

Cash For Shots costs just £1 per week and offers a weekly cash prize of £100. Payment can be quarterly (£13), half-yearly (£26) or annually (£52), by standing order, cheque, cash or online transfer. Supporters wishing to set up a Standing Order can do so by paying the Cash For Shots account at sort code 20-61-82 and account number 30106895.
