MATCH REPORT: Hanwell Town 2 Aldershot Town 6 (Pre-Season Friendly)

Aldershot Town cruised to a 2-6 friendly victory against Hanwell Town at the Powerday Stadium on Saturday.

It was goals galore in an entertaining game with six goals being scored in the first-half alone.

Two trialists got on the scoresheet before Chike Kandi and Josh Rees got first-half goals.

Mo Bettamer added to the scoreline in the second priod with the hosts getting a goal back themselves in each half.

It was a slow start to the game but it all came alive in the 26th minute. Trialist C found Kandi, whose shot was parried by the goalkeeper. It didn’t go very far though as it came out for Trialist C who lifted the ball deliciously over the Hanwell goalkeeper, giving him no chance.

Less than a minute later it was two. Again it was Trialist C finishing off a great move down the right after Tanner found him in the middle for what was effectively a tap-in.

Another Trialist, Trialist D, got himself in on the act after breaking down the left and finishing well at the near post.

Kandi, was was a threat throughout the half, got a goal after some great work from Josh Rees. The former Bromley man controlled the ball in the area before manipulating it into space and flicking it into Kandi to tap into an empty net.

The hosts very quickly pulled a goal back through their number 11. A save from Mitch Walker and the crossbar delayed it before it fell to the goalscorer nicely to finish at the back post.

However, the three-goal margin wouldn’t last long. In the 42nd minute provider turned goalscorer when Rees grabbed himself a goal, a coolly taken finish from 12 yards out, converting a Trialist D cross.

The second-half didn’t quite have the same pace to it, but that didn’t stop Bettamer getting his obligatory pre-season goal. This time, it couldn’t have been simpler. In the 67th minute James Rowe swung a very inviting corner straight onto the striker’s head who couldn’t miss from a couple of yards out.

Hanwell got one more goal back with four minutes to play through the head of their number 5 after a good cross, but it didn’t affect the outcome.
