Chairman grateful for “a very emotional day”

On behalf of Aldershot Town, Chairman Shahid Azeem has expressed his gratitude for the many tributes paid to Frank Burt at Saturday’s match against Tranmere Rovers.

“It was a very emotional day for everybody, and we were delighted to welcome members of Frank’s family to the game. I’m sure Frank himself would have loved it, too.

“As usual, the East Bank did themselves proud with a fantastic banner, showing how much Frank meant to everybody at the Club. Our programme editor, Victoria Rogers, and designers Duplexity Art also produced a lovely edition, with some great memories and yet more tributes, and Club Chaplain Mike Pusey led the service with typical grace.

“I would particularly like to thank Tranmere’s directors, players and supporters for their participation in the day, and especially for their appreciation of a true football fan during the minute’s applause.”
