Eastleigh Travel Advice

Eastleigh Football Club have advised us of road closures affecting travel to the Silverlake Stadium tomorrow, Monday 28 December.

The closures on Stoneham Lane take effect three hours prior to kick-off and remain until one hour after the match has finished. From the north, the closure begins at the Concorde Club junction where Old Stoneham Lane meets Stoneham Lane, whilst from the south it is at the junction of Stoneham Lane and Wellington Park.

A dedicated pedestrian entrance and exit can be accessed off of Stoneham Lane, via its north entry point, within the road closure. This new access segregates pedestrians from the vehicles accessing and leaving the stadium car park.

The stadium is situated in close proximity to Junction 5 of the M27 motorway. Traffic signage will be available on all direct routes to the stadium from the motorway junction roundabout.

Traffic will arrive through the existing road network from the South. No vehicles will be able to enter from the North once the closure is in place.

Vehicles approaching from the north via Chestnut Avenue and then onto Stoneham Lane, heading towards the M27, will be directed to turn right into Stoneham Park for car parking. Pedestrian access to the ground can be gained from this area. It is expected that the majority of vehicles will approach from the south.

Contractors, coaches, parking permit holders, staff and VIPs, plus taxi vehicles, will gain access to the site by travelling from the South of Stoneham Lane to the stadium, where spaces will be allocated for parking of these vehicles only. On leaving the stadium car park, there will be no right turn for one hour after the match.
