CLUB STATEMENT: MATCHES AT THE EBB TO BE LIVE STREAMED!

Aldershot Town have today announced that they will offer a live streaming service for the upcoming season to give all fans of the club – and any away fans – the chance to watch matches played at The EBB Stadium.

Details of how this will be accessed by fans will be announced in due course, but Aldershot Town have called upon the services of two recognised providers to ensure no fan needs miss out.

Following the success of Sportradar’s streaming platform through which fans could watch the 2019/20 National League Play-Offs, The Shots have turned to the company to enable fans to subscribe and watch matches for this coming season whilst restrictions remain in place on attending matches in person.

All video production for the streaming platform will be provided by Pixellot, using their automatic cameras. Pixellot’s technology, which uses artificial intelligence to track the action, has been in place at The EBB Stadium for a number of seasons now and has been used to film not only The Shots’ own matches, but also the likes of Chelsea’s Academy, who have played at the stadium. Pixellot is also behind a similar initiative in the SPFL to ensure that clubs are able to live stream matches this coming season.

Commenting on the news, Aldershot Town Chairman Shahid Azeem added: “The situation we and other clubs face going into the new season is unprecedented. Whilst ensuring the safe return of fans to The EBB Stadium is of utmost importance, we wanted to find a way to give every fan a chance to watch our matches. I personally, together with the club, have been hugely impressed by what Sportradar and Pixellot can offer. The benefits go far beyond just live streaming too – the video will aid our coaching departments, whilst I’m delighted at the opportunities we can make available to other teams who play at the stadium. Our investment in these types of solutions underlines our commitment to finding ways to serve our fanbase in these difficult times.”
