CLUB STATEMENT: Chris Chapman

Aldershot Town have reluctantly accepted the resignation of Chris Chapman from the Club’s Board of Directors.

An experienced and energetic locally businessman with more than 15 years’ experience, Chris was appointed to the Board in November 2018 but is standing down due to extended work commitments taking up more and more of his time.

“It was an extremely hard decision,” admitted Chris (pictured above), “but sadly outside of my control as there is only 24 hours in a day and I am a firm believer of giving it your all or not at all.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a Director and the part I have played not only with external parties but also in starting the work on the new stadium and development work of this wonderful Club, and will remain an active supporter. I wish the Club every success for the rest of this season and into the future and will be happy to help in whatever way I can in the future”

“We are very sorry to have received Chris’s resignation but fully understand his reasoning,” continued Chairman Shahid Azeem.

“He has brought great energy and excellent ideas to the Club with his experience and expertise but, while we are sad to lose him from the Board, I am pleased that he will continue to be committed supporter of Aldershot Town, as well as a friend of mine and a valuable sounding board for our future endeavours. On behalf of my fellow Directors, I thank Chris for what he has given to the Club.”
