Before Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Solihull Moors, we were delighted – alongside the Shots Foundation – to present our Community Captain award for 2023 as part of Premier League’s ‘More Than a Game’ campaign.
We were very proud to award this to Pete O’Shea. Pete is a lifelong Shots fan who, in his youth, struggled with the issues still facing our youth today. Pete works tirelessly as a director of Turnstyle to work with the youth in our community and steer them away from antisocial behaviour.
Pete said “To be awarded this by the club I love at my spiritual home is some journey. None of what I’m lucky enough to be doing would be possible without good people supporting what we are doing. Thanks to my dear friend, and fellow director at Turnstyle, Danny Williams, and to Sophie Porter for her continued unwavering support and drive to affect the lives of Rushmoor’s youth.”
