Chelsea Academy Extend Agreement

Aldershot Town are delighted to announce that Chelsea’s Academy have extended their agreement to play matches at the Electrical Services Stadium for the 2015/16 season.

This will extend the agreement into a third season, allowing the Blues’ Academy sides to continue to play home fixtures at Aldershot.

The extension follows this summer’s transportation of the old Stamford Bridge pitch to the Electrical Services Stadium, which has further strengthened The Shots’ reputation for producing one of the best playing surfaces in the lower leagues.

Chelsea Chairman Bruce Buck said: “We are very happy to continue our relationship with Aldershot Town, who have been excellent hosts to our development teams over the past season and a half.

“The facilities at the Electrical Services Stadium make it a good venue for our young players to experience competition, while the location allows Chelsea supporters easy access to watch our stars of tomorrow in action.”

Shots Chairman Shahid Azeem said: “This is fantastic news for the Club and highlights our excellent relationship with Chelsea. Every team which has visited us this season has been impressed with the quality of the new pitch.

“Head Grounds man Andy Nunn has also benefitted hugely from the advice and guidance of Chelsea’s groundstaff, and we are immensely grateful for their support.”

Chelsea’s Under-21 side are next in action in Aldershot when they host Norwich City in the Premier League International Cup on Tuesday December 23 at 2pm. Admission is free.
