ATFC 2019 Golf Day Sponsored by EBB

Aldershot Town FC’s 2019 Golf Day saw Barons Farnborough BMW finally lose their crown after they were beaten by Norman Kelsey’s team at Puttenham Golf Course.

Barons had won the 2017 and 2018 Golf Day tournaments but finished 17th out of 22 teams at this year’s event which was bathed in glorious sunshine throughout the afternoon.

The event was once again sponsored by EBB Paper and Charters also had a brand spanking, shiny new Peugeot 108 up for grabs for anyone that got a hole-in-one on the 18th.

Once again, nobody won the prize but Charter’s very own Ian Monk came within four inches of claiming the car for himself, the closest anyone has come in years.

Second place went to Terry Jasper’s team and third place went to Tony Malvasi’s side. Normandy Garage picked up the wooden spoon, with the Shots Chairman Shahid Azeem featuring for them.

There were also other prizes; nearest the pin on the 15th went to Terry Leader, the straightest drive on the 11th went to Les Henson and hitting the green in one on the 5th went to Terry Leader, Barron Howell, Stephen Mallet and Drummond Paris.

The day went by without any issues and was another fantastic fundraising success for the club with more money raised than the 2018 event. We want to thank everybody who showed up on the day and made it an enjoyable and memorable one.

We would also like to thank Srixon Golf for once again generously donating a number of prizes and of course all the staff at Puttenham Golf Club for the fantastic hospitality they show us year after year.
