Aldershot Town Football Club are delighted to announce the permanent appointment of Ross McNeilly as First-Team Manager until the end of the season with a view to extend.
McNeilly spent almost five years as The Shots Academy Manager before being given the opportunity to take interim charge of first-team affairs following the departure of Mark Molesley.
Under his interim leadership, The Shots have won five out of the eight games, picking up four clean sheets in the process.
Chairman Shahid Azeem said: “The board are delighted to be able to announce Ross as permanent First-Team Manager of Aldershot Town.”
“The performances and winning record during his Interim spell stood out amongst the high-quality pool of candidates that applied. He’s come through the Academy, knows the football club and the players want to play under him.”
“The Board are very excited to have Ross in charge until the end of the season where we will sit down and discuss plans for the future beyond this year. Football is always talked about as a results-based industry and Ross has produced those results and certainly deserves a ‘shot’!”
Head of Football Operations Terry Brown said: “As well as the results Ross has achieved, we’ve been really impressed with his man-management. He’s taken to senior management quickly and gained the respect of the dressing room and the players.”
“We’re all excited to now press on with the rest of the season and build on the fantastic results Ross and his team have achieved so far.”
