ACADEMY UPDATE: Great progress being made!

It’s been a successful first half of the season for the Shots Academy with a number of individual and team achievements throughout the various age groups!

As we begin to progress into the new year and the second half of the football season, take a look at some of the highlights from the various age groups across our boys and girls teams:

Team Achievements:

  • Under 12s boys and Under 13s boys have progressed through the to Hampshire County Cup Quarter-Finals
  • Under 13s boys and Under 14s boys both remain in JPL cup competitions going into the New Year
  • Under 18s girls remain in the JPL cup competition going into the New Year
  • Under 18s girls are in the Quarter-Finals of the Hampshire County Cup
  • The Under 15s girls have progressed to the Round of 16 in the Hampshire County Cup
  • The Under 18s boys have progressed to the Quarter-Finals of the Hampshire County Cup
  • The Under 18s boys reached the First Round proper of the FA Youth Cup (losing 1-0 to Leyton Orient) – this is back to back First Round appearances and the third time in the last four seasons the academy has reached the First Round
  • The B Team are in the Quarter-Finals of the Aldershot Senior District Cup

Player Achievements:

  • Billy Walsh made his senior debut in the National League Cup
  • Morgan Elliott and Billy Walsh have both progressed to training regularly with the First Team
  • 7 ‘B Team’ players played in the Servio Men’s Senior Cup (Hampshire Cup) with the First Team
  • 3 Under 16s girls invited to trial for England Women’s Talent Pathway selection
  • Under 18 boys players, Lewis Hillary and Felix Hills, were selected for the County Under 18s squad
  • Under 16 boys players, Jacob Chrismas, Malakai Gamblin-Green, Koby Kircher and Archie Wisdom, all featured in the Under 18s boys FA Youth Cup fixtures

B Team Overview:

  • 9 out of 12 players have trained with and featured for the First Team in a fixture since the start of pre-season
  • 1 professional debut from the B Team given
  • 7 B Team players ‘debuting’ for the First Team in the Servio Men’s Senior Cup, including 1 B Team player scoring their first goal at senior level for the First Team
  • 16,149 loan minutes accrued across the B team since the start of the season across Steps 3–5
